Our purpose at Dr's. Price & Shepler, Family Eye Care is to provide the best possible eye care and the highest quality eyewear services to the patients who entrust their visual welfare to us.


We provide those services in a friendly and pleasant manner that makes our patients feel both valued as individuals and appreciated for the business they give us. We always try to exceed our patient's expectations.

Dr. Herb Price

Dr. Herb Price | Optometrist

Dr. Price graduated from Indiana University in 1968 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from Indiana University School of Optometry in 1971.

He then started his Family Eye Care practice in Logansport, Indiana. Dr. Price evaluates and treats all types of vision problems and eye health conditions. His special interest is in sports vision for athletes. He was on the National Sports Festival Olympic Vision Testing Team, Director of Vision Services for the Pan American Games. Dr. Price was honored with the Meritorious Service Award by the Indiana Optometric Association. 20/20 Magazine recognized Dr. Price as one of the top 30 Optometrist in the United States. In 2003, he was named Optometrist of the Year in Cass County.

Dr. Price is a member the Indiana Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. He has lectured on the subject of Sports Vision and Optometric Practices Management throughout the United States.

Dr. Price is a member of the Logansport Rotary Club, Cass County Chamber of Commerce, Fulton County Chamber of Commerce and the IU Alumni Association. He is a Past President of the IU School of Optometry Alumni Association and a member of the Board of Directors of the Indiana Blind Children’s Foundation. He is a Past President of the Cass County Community Foundation. Dr. Price was recognized by the Chamber of Commerce in 2013 as the “Business Man of the Year”.

His wife, Patti, has been in the optical industry for over 30 years. They have a son, David, who owns Priceless Banners in Logansport and a daughter, Monica, who is an Optometrist with an office in Greenfield. They also have four grandchildren. Dr. Price’s hobbies are golf, boating, playing cards, IU athletics and Colts football.

Dr. Kathy Shepler

Dr. Kathy Shepler | Optometrist

Dr. Shepler graduated from Logansport High School in 1981. She received a Bachelor of Science degree with High Distinction in 1986 from Indiana University and Doctor of Optometry degree with High Honors in 1988 from the Indiana University School of Optometry.

Dr. Shepler completed a one year residency program at the West Side VA Hospital and Hines Blind Center in Chicago which provided advanced training in the diagnosis and management of eye diseases. Dr. Shepler joined Dr. Price’s practice in 1989. She was also an associate clinical instructor at the Indiana University Indianapolis Eye Clinic from 1989-1993 where she supervised the training of students.

Dr. Shepler is a member of the Indiana Optometric Association, American Optometric Association and Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society.

Dr. Shepler is a member of the Cass County Chamber of Commerce, Fulton County Chamber of Commerce, Indiana University Alumni Association and former president of the Cass County United Way Board. She is a past chairperson of Logansport Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees and is an active member of All Saints Parish. She was recognized by the Chamber of Commerce as the 2008 “Business Woman of the Year”.

Her husband, Dave, is owner of Shepler Construction Company, Inc. They have three daughters, Allison, Christine and Natalie. Dr. Shepler enjoys reading, boating and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Karisa Hall

Dr. Karisa Hall | Optometrist

Dr. Karisa Hall grew up on a farm in neighboring Miami County and graduated in 2005 from North Miami High School as valedictorian. She earned her undergraduate degree in biology from Huntington University in 2009, where she distinguished herself academically, graduating summa cum laude, earning biology excellence awards, and actively participating in the Alpha Chi Honor Society. She graduated from Indiana University School of Optometry with honors in 2013, where she enjoyed being a member of The Fellowship of Christian Optometrists.

Dr. Hall’s training took her from Nebraska to Florida, gaining expertise on a spectrum of vision disorders affecting patients of all ages, from childhood amblyopia to management of glaucoma. She specializes in primary care optometry providing routine eye health exams. Other areas of expertise include specialty contact lens fits, including bifocal contact lenses and contacts for astigmatism, and treatment of ocular diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, dry eye, macular degeneration, and glaucoma.

Dr. Hall’s professional associations include the Indiana Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, and the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society. Outside of optometry, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Ryan, and family and friends. She enjoys outdoor activities such as riding her bike on the local trails, hiking, and sand volleyball; she has even participated in four sprint triathlons. Dr. Karisa Hall is known for her excellence, thoroughness, and compassion, and she is enthusiastic about serving the eye care needs of you and your family.

Marcia Campbell

Marcia Campbell | Administrative Consultant

After moving to Cass County from California, Marcia has lived in Royal Center since 1967. For several years she worked for Pioneer School Corporation at the elementary and high school levels. She and her husband Dale raised two sons, Dale L. and Matt. Their extended family now includes 8 grandchildren and 5 greats. Marcia’s sons are very active with family and work. They both have careers in law enforcement.

Marcia attended college in Riverside, California. She has attended several classes and seminars to further her education in the eye care business. She began working with Dr. Price in 1988 and has worked in various areas of the office. She enjoys gardening, sewing, outdoor activities and attending school events.

Ellen

Ellen King | Office Director

Ellen and her husband, Don, live on their farm near Fulton. They both grew up in the Fulton and Grass Creek communities. Their son, Jeff, and daughter-in-law, Toni, live in Columbus, Indiana. Jeff and Toni are the parents of a daughter, Abigail. Following graduation from Caston High School, Ellen obtained a Medical Laboratory Technology degree. In spare time she enjoys quilting, sewing, antiques, coaching high school cheerleaders, and spending time with family.

As Office Director, Ellen works with the Drs. and staff in an administrative capacity. She enjoys the challenges of her business administration duties that include payroll, taxes, correspondence, problem solving and staff coordination. Ellen joined Family Eye Care in 2012 and appreciates the “family” atmosphere.

Karen Hardy

Karen Hardy | Optician/Insurance Coordinator

Karen’s family moved from Wisconsin to Logansport when she was young. Karen and Mike live in Lake Cicott and have 2 married daughters. Stacie and husband Jason have two sons, Ethan and Easton. Kristen and her husband Payton are the parents of three children, Kendalyn, Alexis and Kolton. Karen’s favorite thing to do is play with her grandchildren. She enjoys scrapbooking and reading.

She began her career in the eye care business in 1974. Karen has assisted the doctors in all areas of the optometric practice. Her specialty is filing insurance claims and helping patients understand their vision benefits. She enjoys assisting patients with frame and lens selection and providing the latest technology in eyewear to compliment the patient’s life style. Karen has attended many seminars to further her education in both optical and insurance procedures.

Lisa Hood

Lisa Hood | Receptionist/Technician

Lisa lives in Logansport with her husband, Larry, who is a Motor Carrier Inspector for Indiana and a Logansport City Councilman. Their daughter, Mariah, is a graduate of Indiana University Kokomo with a degree in Elementary Education. Lisa enjoys cross stitching, embroidery and spending time with family and traveling.

She has worked for Drs. Price and Shepler since 2004. She assists the doctors in many areas. Her duties as a receptionist allow her the opportunity to assist patients in scheduling their appointments, managing patient recalls and performing needed tests such as Retinal Health photos on patients with specific eye conditions. She organizes and orders medical supplies for the office. Lisa also assists Dr. Shepler with eye exams and glasses for special needs children at Camelot Care Center.

Maria Evers

Maria Evers | Receptionist

Maria was born and raised in Grant County, Indiana and graduated from Eastbrook High School. She moved to Fulton County 1999 after meeting and marrying her husband David. They have two grown, married daughters and four grandchildren with another granddaughter to be born next year. Free time is spent enjoying grandchildren camping and attending their sports activities. Maria also loves to garden, travel to our National Parks, and bake.

Maria has worked in the healthcare field for over 40 years. Her duties include billing, payments, scheduling appointments, insurance verifications and assisting patients with questions. Helping patients with their medical needs and making sure they are treated in a kind and professional manner is always her top priority.

Jenny Steininger

Jenny Steininger | Optician/Frame Buyer

Jenny grew up in Fulton County and is a graduate of Caston High School. After graduation and marrying her husband, Matt, they moved to Rochester. They are the parents of two sons, Dylan and Wesley, who are active in sports and academics. She is a member of Mill Creek Missionary Church. In her spare time, she enjoys being with her family and watching her boys participate in a wide variety of sports. Jenny also enjoys amusement park rides, outside activities, vacationing in Florida, helping in the classroom of our local schools.

Jenny looks forward to assisting patients with their eye care needs. She enjoys helping patients select eyewear that fits their needs and personality. She is excited to educate our patients on the best products and services available for their lifestyle.

Camille Breedlove

Camille Breedlove | Optician/Frame Buyer

Camille grew up in Royal Center, where she graduated from Pioneer High School. She then moved to Kokomo and attended IUK where she studied business for two years. In her spare time she enjoys photography, cooking, crafting, kayaking, and spending time with family and friends.

She began her career in eye care in 2015. She assists the doctors in many areas in the office. Her duties as an optician are assisting patients with frame and lens selection and informing them of their vision insurance benefits. She teaches patients how to insert and remove contacts and how to properly care for them. She enjoys meeting with frame and contact representatives to keep the most current product in the office.

Nancy Carlos

Nancy Carlos | Optician/Receptionist

Nancy was born in Los Angeles, California and spent her childhood years growing up in San Antonio, Texas. She moved to Logansport in 2005 and graduated from Logansport High School. Nancy received a degree in Cosmetology and worked in that field until joining Drs. Price and Shepler in 2016. She continues to live in Logansport with her mother, two sisters and a brother. Spare time finds her with family and friends, shopping, traveling and attending concerts.

Nancy does dual duty as both an optician and a receptionist. She has been an important addition to our staff because she is bi-lingual and can help our many Spanish speaking patients. She has also helped us translate and print some of our office documents into Spanish. Nancy looks forward to working with our patients and serving their eye care needs.

Michele Hubenthal

Michele Hubenthal | Optician

Michele lives near Logansport with her husband, Todd, who is a delivery driver for an LP company in Peru. They have 3 children. Lacey and her husband, Seth, live in Greenwood. Dalea is attending IUK, and Curtis is a student at Caston High School.

Following graduation from Rochester High School, Michelle worked in the office of a medical clinic in Rochester and most recently spent almost 10 years working in the Special Education Department at Caston Elementary School. She enjoys gardening, walking, cooking, and spending time with her family.

Joining the “family” at Family Eye Care has been an incredibly enjoyable and satisfying experience. As an optician, Michele assists patients with their frame and lens choices, explains insurance benefits, and especially enjoys teaching new contact wearers how to wear and care for their lenses. Seeing the smile on their faces when they get that first set of lenses in for the first time makes her day!
